Honesty is a noble characteristic true believers strive to achieve and we are given the best example of honesty in Islam--Prophet Muhammad (S).
Even before entering into Prophethood, Rasulullah (S) was widely known for his honesty. Even his greatest of enemies admired and praised his honesty to the extent that they would leave their valuables with him. Through his work as a merchant and trader, he acquired the nicknames of As-Sadiq and Al-Amin, the Honest and the Trustworthy. He made it a point to be honest in all of his interactions and once said:

“There is no faith for he who lacks trustworthiness and there is not religion for he who cannot keep his vow”
Abdullah ibn Mas'ud reported, that the Messenger of Allah (S), said:
“Verily, truthfulness leads to righteousness and righteousness leads to Paradise; a man may speak the truth until he is recorded with Allah as truthful; and verily, lying leads to wickedness and wickedness leads to the Hellfire; a man may tell lies until he is recorded with Allah as a liar.”
Last but not least the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) also described the qualities and traits of of what would make one a hypocrite:
1. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie.
2. Whenever he promises, he always breaks it (his promise ).
3. If you trust him, he proves to be dishonest. (If you keep something as a trust with him, he will not return it.)" (Bukhari)
We need to always remember that in order to know the truth we must first understand it, believe in it, and practice it--for in the end only the truth will be brought forth on the Day of Judgement.

Insha'Allah this week, let us all strive to be honest in all our actions from telling the truth to fulfilling one's word.
